Gainey Ranch Golf Club

As a Banquet Director, you will be responsible for managing the daily execution of all banquet functions in the Club while delivering great hospitality, guest service, and financial profitability.

This position reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director or designated leader of the Food and Beverage in the Club.

Day to Day:

  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations, 
  • Recruit, interview, and train team members
  • Communicate function specifications, procedures, and changes with affected departments, including, but not limited to, the Food and Beverage, Event Services, Property Operations, 
  • Oversee and ensure proper storage of equipment
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards
  • Must stay updated on new food and wine trends
  • Maintaining appropriate staffing levels, room/station assignments, buffet décor, and enhancements as they relate to banquet and meeting room set-up
  • Developing and maintaining all policies, procedures, and quality standards within the department
  • Sets the pace and is an excellent example of a successful quality operation
  • Prepare for and conduct pre-shifts, motivating staff daily to exceed client expectations
  • Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive attitude, and professional appearance
  • Responsible for short and long-term banquet functions in the front and back of the house
  • Creates an environment establishing the highest standards of quality service and ensures implementation through effective hiring, training development, promotion, and continuous reinforcement
  • Monitor and track BEOs and the flow of information from sales, catering, and the culinary depts. while distributing information consistently to your hourly team members 
  • Oversee the maintenance and inventory of china/glassware/silverware/small wares for the banquet department
  • Other duties as requested by General Manager.

About you:
  • 3-5 years of prior Banquet Director experience at an upscale property preferred
  • Proven success in customer service and guest recovery
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Completion of Hospitality First Certification and alcohol (ASAP), CPR Certification preferred Food Safety Program (FSP), and have completed appropriate conduct training (HFWACT).
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting required
  • Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
